Luxury hotels Cuba despite fears Trump may hurt tourism boom
I thought I had better update the Properties for sale Cuba Blog, at least once this month. I looked about Google for something interesting to point out to the viewing public.
The trouble is that there is so much going on in the world that is difficult to know what to write about?
Brexit, Donald Trump, French elections, UK elections, terrorist attacks, nuclear missiles being fired, the list is endless.
But, when you get right down to it, this is a blog about Cuban Properties and so I thought I would go “of piste” so it were, and waffle on a bit about whats happening in Cuba (there’s a surprise!)
As the title at the top of the page might suggest, there are now luxury hotels in Cuba and I found a brilliant Reuters article all about the race to build luxury hotels in Havana.
the article lead was this delightful little paragraph; Towering cranes dot the Havana skyline as communist-run Cuba races to build luxury hotels, amid indignation among some residents and concern that U.S. President Donald Trump might reverse a detente that fueled the tourist boom.
Oh dear, what would Fidel Castro have to say about that? The article is enlightening and I think you should take some minutes out and read it.
After all, Hotels, be they luxury hotels, are, after all, properties and these will surly boost the image of Cuba.
There was a time that Havana was famed for its hotels, casinos and decadence, one of the reasons the revolution came to pass.
Luxury Hotels Cuba – The Future is Bright
Is this the beginning of the return of Havana as a magnet for the rich and famous?
Will the sight of Ferrari and Rolls Royce replace the images of the Oldsmobile’s made up of a hundred different parts and colours?
If you think about it, Cuba, Havana in particular, is identified with old buildings and Oldsmobile’s so maybe, new buildings and new cars will produce a more positive image and the country can move ever forward.
That is, of course, unless a certain Mr Trump does not put a spoke into it. lets see, shall we.
